Early life and education

Between 2003 and 2006, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, located in London, England.

Career

Film

New starred alongside Tom Cullen in the romantic-drama film Weekend (2011), directed by Andrew Haigh.

Stage

As of October 2009, he was playing Joe Orton in a London production of the dark comedy play Prick Up Your Ears (2009) by Simon Bent.

In September 2011, New played the title role in the drama play Edward II (circa 1592) by Christopher Marlowe at the Royal Exchange Theatre, located in Manchester, England.

He has also appeared in a production of the drama play Bent (1979) by Martin Sherman.
